Scuba Educators International Unveils Unified Website and Member Platform, Streamlining Certification, eLearning, and Professional Services

DEMA Booth Number: 1350

Scuba Educators International has consolidated certifications, eLearning, diver services, verification tools, instructor management, and Training Provider operations into a single digital platform. The new Scuba Educators International website brings diver services, certifications, eLearning, instructor tools, and training provider management together under one roof.

Scuba Educators International (SEI) has officially unveiled its newly redesigned website and integrated digital platform, representing the most comprehensive modernization of the organization’s online services to date.

Presented during an exclusive presentation at DEMA, by SEI’s CIO Dean Zeber, the new scubaeducators.org platform consolidates services that were previously spread across multiple systems into a single online destination designed for divers, instructors, training providers, and SEI leadership worldwide. “This platform is the result of a four-year investment in our instructors and students. In 2023, we focused on understanding the challenges and untangling years of complexity. In 2024, we made eLearning available at a cost-effective price. In 2025, we added automation to help streamline administrative tasks. In 2026, we made the decision to stop patching together half-built solutions and start over with a platform designed around instructors, students, and Training Providers,” said Dean Zeber, CIO of Scuba Educators International, “Our goal was simple: remove confusion, help students find instructors, and give professionals the tools they need to focus on teaching rather than technology.”

Built around the concept of “one sign-in, one menu, one experience,” the platform provides seamless access to certifications, eLearning, student records, training provider management, professional verification, online shopping, and account services from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

The redesign reflects SEI’s commitment to making diver education more accessible while simplifying the tools instructors and training providers rely on every day.

A Better Experience for Divers

The new site allows divers to create and manage personal accounts, access certification records, receive digital certification cards, participate in eLearning programs, and verify credentials through a unified system.

Divers can also take advantage of several publicly available resources without creating an account, including: Diver certification verification, Dive leader verification, Find a Pro instructor and training provider locator, Certification crossover requests, and Replacement certification card requests

The platform’s new verification features provide immediate confirmation of diver certifications and professional leadership status while protecting personal information.

A new “Find a Pro” feature allows divers to search for instructors and training providers by town, city, or postal code, making it easier than ever to connect with active SEI professionals and training facilities.

Modern Tools for Instructors

The new platform significantly streamlines certification processing for SEI professionals.

A guided certification workflow walks instructors through every step of the process, from locating or adding a student record to selecting certifications, processing payments, and issuing digital certification cards.

Digital cards are delivered electronically immediately upon processing, while physical cards continue to be available where applicable.

Instructor dashboards provide a real-time overview of tasks requiring attention, including:

  • Certifications awaiting payment
  • Print queues
  • Executive review items
  • eLearning final reviews
  • Certification history
  • Student activity

Each dashboard item links directly to the action required, reducing administrative time and allowing professionals to focus on training divers.

Fully Integrated eLearning

SEI has also introduced a fully integrated eLearning environment within the platform.

Replacing separate learning systems, the new eLearning experience allows instructors to assign courses in minutes while giving students immediate access through email invitations.

Courses can include:

  • Lessons
  • Instructional videos
  • Reviews
  • Quizzes
  • Final assessments

Instructors can monitor student progress through their dashboard and review completion requirements without leaving the system.

Built for Today’s Training Providers

One of the platform’s most significant advancements is the addition of a comprehensive Training Provider management system.

Dive centers, schools, military programs, and other training organizations can now manage their operations within a dedicated account structure while maintaining control over branding, billing, certifications, subscriptions, eLearning credits, and affiliate instructor relationships.

Training Providers can invite instructors to affiliate with their organization while defining specific permissions for:

  • Certification processing
  • Billing responsibilities
  • eLearning assignments
  • Credit card usage
  • Branding and logo placement on certification cards

The system also supports instructors working with multiple Training Providers, allowing relationships and permissions to be managed independently.

Digital Credentials and Legacy Certification Support

The platform provides immediate access to digital certification cards through a diver’s account dashboard. Certifications can be viewed, printed, or emailed directly from the system.

SEI has also simplified replacement card requests for qualifying legacy certifications, including historic SEI credentials and certifications issued through several predecessor and affiliated programs.

Designed for Mobile Access

Recognizing that divers and professionals increasingly work from mobile devices, the entire platform was designed with responsive functionality in mind.

Whether verifying a certification, assigning eLearning, processing a student, reviewing records, or locating a professional, users can complete tasks from virtually any device with the same streamlined experience.

Moving SEI Forward

The launch of the new platform represents a significant investment in the future of diver education and professional support. “SEI didn’t build a new website. SEI invested four years building a better experience for instructors and students,” said Connie Maxwell, Scuba Educators International’s new Director of Marketing.

By bringing certifications, student management, eLearning, commerce, verification tools, professional resources, and Training Provider operations into a single integrated environment, SEI has created a platform designed to support the next generation of divers and dive professionals while preserving the personalized educational approach that has defined the organization for decades.

The new platform is now available at www.scubaeducators.org.
