Volivoli Beach Resort lives what they believe . As the premium boutique resort on the Suncoast, the environment above and below the water is important to staff and management at the resort. As World Earth Day approached Simon Doughty Operations Manager for Ra Divers and Resort General
Manager Nick Darling sent out a call to action to all of the expats and locals living the in region. The Challenge involved a major clean-up of the surrounding coastal areas of Raki Raki and Volivoli Point. As an incentive Volivoli Beach Resort offered free ice-creams , a movie night and a Funday Sunday BBQ with free beer at the end of a hard working day hosted by resort owners the Darling Family.
46 volunteer’s aged from 2 years old to 60 years old from as far as Suva and Nadi gathered at Volivoli to join locals, staff and dive crews to work side by side. Over the day these Eco warriors collected in excess of 150 kilos of rubbish including plastic bags, water bottles straws, cans ,glass, car wheels, building materials, nappies and cigarette butts from beach front, road side and mangrove areas.
