Update on Hurricane Irma from NAUI HQ

The National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI Worldwide) announces that NAUI Headquarters remains closed as we deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. Safety remains our top priority – not only for staff and members, but for everyone impacted by this storm.

Our initial assessment indicates that NAUI Headquarters sustained no structural damage and we plan to reopen on Wednesday, September 13 at 8:30 a.m. EDT, pending the lifting of State and local shelter-in-place orders, curfews and travel restrictions. On Wednesday, we will further assess the impact of lost or limited services (telecommunications, power and water) and determine if a return to full operational status is possible and will communicate that to the membership once fully known.

Stay tuned to the official NAUI Facebook page and member email communications that will continue to provide updates.

We urge everyone in the path of this storm to follow the advice of local authorities. To all who have offered their support and concern, thank you.

We will be contacting NAUI affiliates in the storm zone to determine if and how we can be of assistance. If you would like to volunteer or receive post-hurricane assistance, please email nauihq@naui.org and we will respond as soon as we can.
