Subway Watersports Roatan, the onsite PADI 5-Star IDC operation for the popular Turquoise Bay Resort, has announced that Phillip Hetherington has received the prestigious PADI Platinum Course Director rating for 2018. Hetherington is the Subway IDC Director and has been working with the operation since 2016.
Hetherington, who splits time between his home in Sugar Land Dive Center in Sugar Land, Texas, Dive Boutique in Cozumel and Subway Watersports, has helped oversee a major expansion in the Subway Watersports professional training and development programs. Last year saw the largest number of PADI IDC graduates in the history of Subway Watersports. In addition, dozens of potential dive professionals participated in the popular Subway Go-Green Internship and Divemaster programs.
In 2018, Subway Watersports unveiled an aggressive schedule of IDC programs that included dates every month of the year. This was done based on demand an interest from prospective participants worldwide.
“This is an ideal setting for anyone wanting to explore a future in the dive industry,” Hetherington points out. “With nearby reefs, warm water, experienced staff and a fleet of top-notch dive vessels, there isn’t a better place to get started than Subway Watersports and Turquoise Bay Resort.”
