Catching the wave of new technology, Dive Pirates Foundation, in its 13th year of sharing the freedom of diving with injured veterans and others with mobility issues, updated its website to better feature its recipients, trips, store, sponsors and more with a new mobile responsive format.
“We wanted to make it easier for people to join the fun, interact with us, and now they can on their tablet, phone, and more,” said Dive Pirates Executive Director Susan DeVore. “We’ve also made it a priority to automate our forms, so it’s easier for recipients to apply, volunteers to sign up, and most importantly, for us to share our divers’ stories so that others can donate and support their newfound freedom as scuba divers.”
With a soft launch at the beginning of the year, the new site is keeping pirates busy with inquiries and donations. The Search Engine Optimization has broadened the reach of the Dive Pirates throughout the internet universe.
“This is very exciting as we are embarking on our 13th voyage this year with three trips, all listed on the homepage with easy sign up forms,” DeVore continued. “Our recipients are featured and their funding pages are easy to donate to or share on social media. Each with its own progress bar, donations go directly to that recipient’s costs to enjoy the freedom and mobility of diving.”
Since the launch, Dive Pirates has seen an increase in sign-ups to its e-newsletter, recipient applications, and memberships. The Foundation collaborated with Squidz Ink Design and Stretch Business Solutions to upgrade the site.
