Bonaire Receives 11 Scuba Diving Magazine Reader’s Choice Awards – TOP SHORE DIVING Destination for 25th Straight Year

Bonaire’s reputation as truly a diver’s paradise continues to dominate the dive scene as the island secured 11 different awards in the Scuba Diving Magazine’s Readers Choice Awards, including six #1 rankings. For the 25th consecutive year, Bonaire has maintained its reign as the #1 Shore Diving Destination in the Caribbean/Atlantic region. Bonaire received first place in four other Caribbean Atlantic categories: Best Snorkeling, Best Macro Diving, Best Beginner Diving, Best Freediving and Best Healthy Marine Environment.

The second place rankings include Best Visibility, Best Advanced Diving, Best for Underwater Photography; third place rankings include Best Overall Diving and Best Technical Diving.

“Once again these top honors are a reflection of what today’s dive travelers want and what we as a destination can deliver to them with confidence.” commented Maurice Adriaens, Director of Tourism Corporation Bonaire. The awards that Bonaire won demonstrate the diversity of our dive product and the reach in attracting all skill levels from beginner divers to advanced and even to free divers. Maintaining an award for 25 consecutive years also speaks to the efforts of our private sector and Bonaire’s visitors; there is mutual respect for the underwater world and we therefore share that award with everyone who contributes to our keeping our marine park pristine.”

The Readers Choice Awards is made up of thousands of Scuba Diving subscribers and web users that rated their dive experiences on a scale of one to five. Results of the 2018 Awards will be featured in the January/February issue of Scuba Diving Magazine.
