(DNW) For more than 40 years, the scuba industry in the Midwest United States has gathered in Chicago for the Our World-Underwater Expo. This year’s event takes place this coming weekend at the Donald E. Stephens Convention in Rosemount, Illinois. It promises to be another exciting three days as more than 100 exhibitors are getting ready for an anticipated crowd of more than 10,000.
According to Patrick Hammer of Our World-Underwater, “The timing for this show is perfect. We’re in the midst of a very cold winter and people are looking for a distraction – especially a distraction that includes warm water, sunny beaches and clear water for scuba diving.” Hammer said this year’s exhibitor list includes representatives from popular destinations including the Cayman Islands, Bonaire, the South Pacific, Mexico and many more.
In addition to a show floor packed with friendly exhibitors, Our World-Underwater will be hosting and presenting several key training programs. One of the more popular programs is the PSI-PCI visual scuba cylinder inspection certification. In addition, a complete slate of other on-site training and seminars is also available.
No Our World-Underwater Show weekend would be complete without the Underwater Film Festivals. This year’s presentations will be Friday and Saturday evenings. Friday night, well-known underwater photographer Amos Nachoum will emcee the event. The following night, Nachoum will be honored with the Our World-Underwater Outstanding Achievement Award.
Our World-Underwater starts Friday evening Friday February 27 and runs through Sunday March 1. For more details visit the Our World-Underwater website.
